Well … apologies to those who are still single during this month of love, especially seeing that Valentine’s Day is coming so soon. We’d still like to recommend the best photo spots for lovers in Phuket. Excuse us… Still, whether you’d like to take your lover for a day trip, for a pre-wedding, for a honeymoon or an anniversary shoot, we thought you might not want to miss these locations for a few ideal photo opportunities.
The Beach: Of course, if you’re on Phuket and you don’t have a beach picture of you two it’d be inconceivable. So, the beach it is for most lovers and wedding couples for a photo shoot. Most recommended beaches are along the west coast with their bright-blue waters and white, fine sand. Each beach had its own unique attributes. Especially recommended are wide sandy beaches such as Mai Khao and Nai Thon, especially at sunset. If you love the rocky-beach look go for Kata, Karon, and Nai Harn. But if you like a silhouette-style sunset photo shots try Ya Nui Beach just south of Nai Harn Beach.
Windmill Viewpoint: Many people may not find Laem Phom Thep the best sunset spot for lovers as it’s so crowded with tourists so a good spot is just to the south and overlooking Phrom Thep; the Windmill Viewpoint. Here, you can see horizontal views of the ocean, yachts and nearby islands. The long grass sways with the sea breezes so take your lover’s hand and walk through the fields, looking into each other eyes making other people jealous as you do.
Yacht Pier – Yacht Marina: Lovers who enjoy luxury should come here – with luxury yachts as a background for your photos. The best backdrop is the pier at Boat Lagoon Haven Marina on Phuket’s east coast. Still, if you’d like a relaxing photo along a long pier I’d recommend Rawai Pier or Chalong Pier close to Kan Eang at Pier. These locations are never crowded but still atmospheric.
Tree Tunnel: Change the feeling from the beach and sea feeling back into a green background. This professional photographer recommends the main road number 3034 from Thepkasattri road to Saphan Sarasin around the Mai Khao mosque, there’s a small soi on the left with a pavilion. Turn left into this soi and about 900 metres along you’ll find a rubber plantation. You can stop by and take some great photos here. There are also other great spots such as Bang Wad Dam and another recommended spot is in front of the British international School Phuket with its green-tree tunnel. But please avoid school hours as the traffic can be bad and you might only get cars as a background!
Phuket Old Town: This is another famous spot not only for tourists but also for couples with its old Sino-Portuguese style building-setup. The recommended spots are the Baba Museum or the Standard Charter Bank Building opposite the iconic tower clock. These two historic buildings have just been renovated. Thalang road at the Dibuk intersection is also a good spot for photo shoots as is the street art on colourful Rommanee Road. There are lots of renovated buildings around here with vivid wall paintings.
Whichever way you look at it, Phuket’s a romantic destination!
